Overview
The Bachelor of Education in Physical Education program equips the aspiring teachers with the necessary skills to deliver quality physical education in secondary schools.
The program is unique in terms of making a teacher eligible to teach physical education and also other school subject like languages, science, social science etc. It is a practice-oriented curriculum filled with intensive practicals in sports, games and physical activities.
This course qualifies the students to become competent Physical Education Teachers and offer high quality physical education at both, primary and secondary school levels.
Eligibility
- The candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 50 % marks ( 49.50% and above to be considered as 50%), ( Minimum 45% in case of Backward Class categories , ) ( 44.50% and above to be considered as 45 %). and having at least participation in the Inter-college/ Inter-zonal/ District/ School competition in Sports and Games as recognized by the AIU/IOA/SGFI/Government of India. OR
- The candidate should have passed Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with 45% marks ( 44.50% and above to be considered as 45 %). (Minimum 40% marks in case of Backward Class Categories) (39.50% and above to be considered as 40 %). OR
- The candidate should have passed Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 45% marks (44.50% and above to be considered as 45 % .(Minimum 40% marks in case of Backward Class Categories (39.50% and above to be considered as 40 %) and studied Physical Education as compulsory /elective subject. OR
- The candidate should have passed Bachelor’s Degree with 45% marks ( 44.50% and above to be considered as 45 % ) (Minimum 40% marks in case of Backward Class Categories) ( 39.50% and above to be considered as 40 %) and having participated in National /Inter-University /State Competitions or secured 1st ,2nd or 3rd position in Inter-college /inter–zonal /district /school competition in Sports and Games as recognized by the AIU/IOA/SGFI/Government of India. OR
- The candidate should have passed Bachelor’s Degree with participation in International Competitions or secured 1st , 2nd or 3rd position in Inter-college /inter–zonal /district /school competition in Sports and Games as recognized by the AIU/IOA/SGFI/Government of India. OR
- The candidate should have passed Bachelor’s Degree with 45% marks (44.50% and above to be considered as 45 % (Minimum 40% marks in case of Backward Class Categories )( 39.50% and above to be considered as 40 %) and at least three years of teaching experience (for deputed in-service candidates i.e. trained physical education teachers/ coaches).
- Other State Candidates: Candidates from Out- side Maharashtra Universities will be considered as Open Category candidates and criteria applicable to Open category candidates will be applicable to them.
- Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates: The number of seats for this quota shall be as per the policy of the Government. These seats shall be filled in by the Competent Authority within the sanctioned intake capacity of the Course.

Course Structure
During the course tenure, students can explore education as a career. Students learn content and also content-specific teaching methodology courses in physical education, school subjects and field experiences at secondary level school.
The program provides a basic level training in using technology, organizing camps, trips and also intramural competitions. Some of the subjects that the students learn include Psychology, Philosophy, Teaching Methodology, Anatomy & Physiology, Fitness & Wellness, Soft skill & personality development etc.
